We’ve made some modifications to Kill3r’s ZombieX mod. Now zombies can get limbs from the box as well as perks. For example, if you get the bicycle you get an endurance perk. If you get a bucket you get the stealth perk so you don’t make as much noise, etc.

Check it out and leave feedback in the forums and let us know if there are any other changes you might like to see in the mod.

Treyarch has confirmed that Black Ops will have Dedicated Server support in the PC release. According to Treyarch head Mark Lamia “I think dedicated servers are excellent. I don’t see any reason not to see them unless… well, I just don’t see any reason not to.”

So hallelujah! We will be getting dedicated servers back. Hopefully they’ll release mod tools as well and maybe someone can make a total conversion for a modern warfare like shooter for it.

And since Treyarch basically works off of Infinity Ward’s codebase, it would seem that there is absolutely no reason why Modern Warfare 2 could not have dedicated server support if Black Ops can. What a shame Infinity Ward chose to be dunces on the issue.

Well a couple of days ago, ActiVision released the first official game trailer (not the teaser). It’s basically an ad for the Xbox 360 version. It looks really good. Much better than World at War I think.

Here is a link to the official PRESS RELEASE

One interesting tidbit mentioned in the release – “with dedicated multiplayer”, now does this mean dedicated servers that people can setup? Hopefully we’ll find out tonight.

VentureBeat has reported that the latest Call of Duty game is being developed by Treyarch and will be set in Vietnam.

The site for the game has gone live this morning: http://www.callofduty.com/blackops
There isn’t much there except the release date 11/9/2010.

They plan to reveal some video and info about the game on GameTrailers TV tonight on SpikeTV in the US at 12:40 AM EST.

File this under probably an April Fools joke, but according to MapModNews.com the next installment of Call of Duty that would have been developed by Treyarch is

A) Not solely a Vietnam game but a cold war game. Taking place between WW2 and the 1980′s.

B) There will be dedicated servers

C) It will also include a Zombie Co-op mode like in World At War

Their source is Tek9 a Call of Duty community website. I searched all throughout that website and could find no such report. MapModNews doesn’t provide a link to the story either on their page.

I wouldn’t take this story seriously. While it would be great if all of this is indeed true I find it hard to believe.

If you can recall a few months back, Activision ran a PSA with Cole Hamels about grenade spam. Except they used the acronym F.A.G.S., friends against grenade spam. Needless to say this didn’t go over so well.

Now Dice and EA have teamed with CC Sabathia for a similar PSA for Battlefield Bad Company 2. And unlike the Activision/IW PSA, this one is funny and well done.
